Welcome to Three Bluebirds!
Three Bluebirds was created to bring more awareness and relief to lymphatic systems and cancer survivors. Our goal is to help people have less pain, less swelling, be able to do what is important to them, while teaching clients self-sustaining methodologies. Three Bluebirds can help clients meet their personal goals by being proactive and looking at each client holistically.
Three Bluebirds Therapy and Wellness was created in 2023. Bluebirds are associated with a sign of happiness, joy, hope, love, and renewal. These signs define what life means to me. Three Bluebirds focuses on three main areas of healing: physically, mentally, and spiritually. After working with people who have lymphedema, lipedema, and cancer survivors I have learned how important it is to heal mind, body and soul as well as taking the time to stop and appreciate the small occurrences of every day life.
Katie Glynn treats clients with the approach of looking at the patient holistically including helping clients obtain their own specific goals along with treating clients mentally, emotionally, physically.
Lymphedema therapists play a crucial role in the management of lipedema, as both conditions involve issues with lymphatic function and fluid accumulation.
Lymphedema therapists play a valuable role in the holistic management of lipedema, helping individuals mitigate symptoms, improve quality of life, and develop skills for long-term self-care.
Personalized treatment may include
-
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)
This is a specialized massage technique that aims to stimulate the lymphatic system, promoting the drainage of excess fluid.
-
Compression Therapy
Wearing compression garments can help reduce swelling and improve circulation.
-
Education and Self-Management, Exercise Program
Low-impact exercises, such as walking, swimming, or biking, can help improve circulation and reduce symptoms.
Oncology Rehabilitation
Oncology rehabilitation can start before surgery, during and after oncology treatment. Oncology treatments, including radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery, may lead to side effects which are normal, however it is not normal for the side effects to continue throughout survivorship. Side effects that may be assessed are cancer related fatigue, pain and stiffness, weakness, numbness/tingling, lymphedema, scar tissue and fibrosis. Treatment may include myofascial release, stretching of shoulders to regain motion, exercise, yoga, and manual lymphatic drainage.
Pre & Post Cosmetic Recovery
People may have cosmetic surgery to help tighten muscles after having babies, fit into their clothes better, and/or to have increased confidence. As with any surgery, swelling is a common side effect. With manual lymph drainage, proper compression garments, and stretching/exercises clients can meet his/her goals quicker with less pain and a smoother recovery.
We have success in…
Eliminating Pain
Pain is a debilitating side effect that can occur with oncology treatments, surgeries, lipedema, and swelling. Where it is common to have pain with these things, it is not common for the pain to continue long term. There are treatments and exercises to help decrease pain and sustain the benefits.
Reducing Swelling
Swelling can happen for many reasons, however there are a few evidenced based techniques to decrease swelling. These techniques include compression bandaging, compression garments, manual lymphatic drainage, and exercise. All of these techniques will be discussed and applied as appropriate.
Increasing Independence
We attend to the whole person to help you return to the activites that mean the most to you. By building your strength, growing your confidence and working to regain mobility you can return to previous function.
